- Persona: Thomas Alfred is an English soldier in the early 1200's born in Castle Pembroke, Pembrokeshire, South Wales. At the age of 14 I joined the forth Crusade and in 1204 was among the Crusaders to Capture Constantinople on April 12th after a six-month siege. Yes, I did take part in the sacking of the city, which is something I am not proud of, but my loot did buy me a good horse and armor. Upon returning to England I continued soldiering and in May 1217 at the age of 27 took part in the attack to relieve Lincoln castle, which was being attacked by the French. The English attack was lead by William Marshal who was 70 years old at the time! This battle lead to the defeat of Philip II of France and his withdraw from England. In 1218 I traveled to Spain for a short time to take part in the re-conquest of Spain from the Muslims and fought under Fernando III, king of Castile and Leon. It was difficult to leave Spain with its warm weather and beautiful women, but the green fields of England called me home where I started my work; gathered like minded warriors and soldiers to a common banner and created the Household of Gryphon's Keep.

- Persona: Kevin was Born in 1212 at the newly built Framlingham Castle. Framlingham was built by Roger Bigod, Earl of Norfolk one of the most influential people at the court of Henry II. Henry II ruled from 1133 to 1189 and was followed by King John. Roger Bigod was one of the rebels who stood against King John after the Magna Carta in 1215. The King took umbrage and a year later besieged castle Framlingham, which was defended by 26 knights, 20 men-at-arms, 7 crossbowmen, a chaplain and 3 others. After two days Roger surrendered and sat it out until the place was restored to his family after King John's death. During this time Kevin moved with his family to Henlow a small village just north of London. In 1223 Kevin was introduced to Thomas Alfred Steward of Gryphon’s Keep, who seeing the boy’s potential offered him a place in the household. Always seeking adventure Kevin agreed to enter the service of Thomas in 1224. Still too young to fight Kevin strives to learn the fighting arts as he waits for the day he is old and strong enough to don the armor of a warrior and take his place in the shield wall with his household brothers.

- Persona: Although his given name is Laurencius Legnano, everyone calls him Larian because of where he grew up (The Larian Triange on the Southwest shore of Lake Como). He also gathered himself an additional nickname of LeQuella (Meaning the searcher) as a joke amongst his household mates due to his constant search for wine and adventure. Larian grew up as a noble on the shores of the beautiful Lake Como region in Northern Italy. His lands were prized for wine growing and for the defensible position they held over the commerce of the lake and easy access to Milan, Como, and Switzerland. While the lands and the lords of the area would often change fealty to best suit their needs, the peoples of Lake Como stuck to their own ways and very rarely involved themselves beyond sending a few token troops to whatever battles concerned the regional powers. After a while, it just became fashionable to hire the soldiers from the region around Lake Como as mercenaries more than trying to recruit them as conscripts. It is into this frame of mind that Larian has thrown himself wholeheartedly into. Whatever battles offer him the most gold, ale, and opportunity for women, he goes headstrong into those battles. While serving only himself, he has fought in the Fourth Crusade as one of the infamous looters and pillagers. He met Thomas Alfred of Pembrooke while sacking Constantinople, and had to nearly prod the young man to take part in the spoils of victory. With the wealth they accumulated in their various battles, and that which he has taken from whatever master was willing to pay, Larian has decided to follow the Household of Gryphon's Keep, just to make sure they don't get too stuffy like those cold Brits are known to do. The house coffers hopefully run deep to keep Larian in his accustomed flamboyant lifestyle.

- Persona: I, Roland De Wahul, was born in Castle Odell, Bedfordshire, East Anglia in the year of our Lord 1313. I am a descendant of the great Doomsday Baron who was entitled the lands of Bedfordshire by William the Conqueror for his service during the conquest of 1066. I am one of the senior line feudal lords known as "Lords Wahul". I have been in many campaigns to glorify England. I have spilt much blood and now remain infamous amongst my adversaries who have dubbed me "the Butcher". In 1356, I fought fiercely under Edward the Black Prince against the French in the battle of Poitiers where I lost count of those I slew in the bloodbath. Through my rewards over the years, I have managed to build my own manor; however, my thirst for battle is not yet quenched. Recently, I joined forces with an ancient place not far from my lands known as the Household of Gryphon's Keep where great warriors of common interest gather…

- Persona: I was born at the turn of the 7th century in a small hut along the Rhine River. I grew up traveling from there to the southeastern edge of the Frankish Kingdom, near Bavaria. There we finally settled. My comrades and I continually pick at the Byzantine borders for whatever we can get. We often acquire armor, weapons, gold and silver from border outposts and the occasional Byzantine hunting parties that we manage to ambush. We are an honorable group of bandits for we always let our prey return the way they came in one piece unless we are forced to do otherwise because of the futile resistance that renders some unfortunately dead.

- Persona: I was born in Reddynge, England on March 2nd 1313. My father was a Captain of an Archery group and was killed during the Battle of Bannockburn in 1314. I became a mercenary and fought in the opening Battles of the Hundred years wars under the Flag of Edward III.

The Household of Gryphons Keep is proud to have Mentors of the highest calibre to teach us in the way of Arms and Chivalry. We count these brave warriors as Mentors to our Household so that we may continue to grow in our Martial skills as well as have a strong networking capability within the SCA.

- Persona: Lord Brennan is a Celt (Ireland) who was inspired to leave his beloved homeland and join the Crusades as well as the Teutonic Order. During his travels he was introduced to Duke Mittion von Weald. The Duke seeing Brennan's potential took him as a Squire and over the years has been teaching him the ways of combat, chivalry, and the necessary skills and attitude required to obtain Knighthood. Recently Lord Brennan created House Swordborn and has begun calling Men-at-Arms to his banner (a white sword on a field of black). From the early days during the founding of Gryphon's Keep he has selflessly provided guidance and insight to the Household. A friendship and brotherhood has developed between Gryphon's Keep and House Swordborn creating a powerful force within the Kingdom.

- Persona: Kail is a proud Norseman who takes his profession very seriously (going a Viking). Not much is known about Kail or where he came from (possibly Denmark). It is worth noting that his sir name "Vidarson" means the son of Vidar. "In Norse myth, Vidar is the son of Odin and the giantess Grid (Gridr). He is the god of silence and revenge, the second strongest of the gods. At the destruction of the world, Odin will be killed by the wolf Fenrir, and Vidar will avenge his father by killing the wolf with his bare hands. He will press one foot on Fenrir's bottom jaw, and will take hold of his other jaw and tear the wolf apart." Kail does not openly claim to be descended from the Norse god, but does not deny it either. At 6'4" tall and a sword swing that splinters shields....who knows, it could be true.
